Construction began on the 44-story tower at 414 Light St. near the Inner Harbor in 2016, with the goal of opening in March 2018. The $160 million tower will holds 394 luxury apartment units, 40,000 square feet of outdoor and indoor amenity space and retail space along the first floor. Apartments in the new building start at 520 square feet.
We used a combination of mineral wool and closed cell spray foam across the entire project site. The spray-applied polyurethane foam insulating air barrier system helps to provide maximum energy efficiency, durability and occupant comfort, health and safety. The Roxul acoustical fire batt is semi-rigid batt insulation designed specifically for interior wall, floor, and ceiling applications. This stone fiber based insulation is made from natural stone and recycled content. It’s a green product that provides superior sound absorbency and fire protection for overall occupant comfort and safety. The material used for the project absorb ssound and acts a fire retardant. These barriers allow the building to have a controlled airflow which, in turn, complements the building’s insulation systems and allows them to function properly.
